HAMMARHEAD JACK PINE

This was pointed out to me over on Bike EXIF....  some really nice work!

This bit caught my eye...
The 865 cc engine internals are stock, but the removal of the oil cooler threw me at first. It’s apparently had no injurious effect: “with richer jetting and new pipes, oil temperatures have not been a problem,” says Hammarhead. “I constructed a custom Spurgin oil cooler for the bike, but while I was waiting for the lines to arrive, my brother encouraged me to throw in a few plugs and light the bike. We ran it with an oil temp gauge and slowly became more confident. For nervous folks (like me) an oil cooler is a no-cost option.”

Bob

I haven't posted a bobber in ages..... posted this bike before, but I like this pic.
back end comes as a kit

Triumph Accessories....

Does anybody know what part number she is?

Not much going on....

....so I made a numerboard out of cardboard, and cut off the that bit of fender eliminator!

well it was something to do.

As seen on Poppa...

Not that ive never seen it before.... but I do love the look of a real working Triumph Flat Tracker

Bonneville Performance Racing Triumph 900 Shawn Baer

 Poppa

Dave's again

One of the best custom builds about.... but then again it is a Deus custom!
The front has been lowered an extra 1/2” on top of the Triumph Bonneville Lowered Progressive Fork Springs (by Progressive Suspension, from British Customs). I’m pretty sure that means it’s been lowered 2.5” from stock up front?!?!
Norman Hyde rear-sets are on. Rectifier has been “blacked-out”.

Mike's

Just a quick note to say I think your bike is looking great and I am enjoying the blog. I have added a couple of pics of my scrambler which I run in the road legal class of the national hill climb championship, the 2nd pic is as it is now ready for a run to Spain with some friends in may,for some dirt road fun. keep the good stuff coming !   Mike (funkystreetchicken)

Plate

I think the standard Kompo-Tech Fender eliminator is a too longs and makes the back end look heavy, So Im going to cut the last 2-3 inches off up to the frame and rivet on a piece of alloy to hold the number-plate, then add a small light underneath to light up the plate.

George

We don't really celebrate our national day here in England, seems it's not very PC. We would rather celebrate St Patricks day, put on a silly green hat and get very drunk!. Our national flag now seems to represent football, and right wing nationalist.... I hate both!

April 23rd St George's Day

Mudguard

Done....
Next I need to cut down the fender eliminator, bring it in line with the frame, fab my own mount and add a number plate light....

Mudeford

Had a little trip to Mudeford Quay, came across a few guys and their machines.

CHOP76

Loving this madness...

and Italian.... think Im moving to italy! chops76.com

Looking good

Need to wire up the front and rear lights, get it running again and off for an MOT....and paint, but that can wait!

Shares a certain something....

Yours Truly

slowly but surely coming together...think I'm putting on weight!!!

Dagenham Dave's, Deus Ex Update

Deus Ex modded Bonneville.... How nice does this paint look!

Shiney!!!!
Chopped, dropped, bigger wheels, vintage tyres and NH clip-on's to name a few of the mods.

Off Topic...

I was considering getting a 'new' car, but not being a fan of the average 3-4 year old, three door hatch-back or family saloon, I looked again at getting one of my all time favorite affordable classics....1972 Mercedes 280 SE for rainy days and taking the girlfriend out for dinner.... and my Triumph tracker for those more wilder moments! £5-6k for a minter! - How cool would I be!!!!

Doh!

I'm in no rush to fit the seat (being bloody lazy really) but as its a nice spring evening here on the south coast of England, I decided to have another look at the seat...
It turns out that the front bracket fits perfectly
the fit around the tank is pretty good too, but not sure about it sitting on the side cover mounts...
I said earlier that I found the seat a bit of a tight fit, well its obvious really as the seat is designed for the standard Bonneville, but the scrambler has the extra exhaust mounting bracket which ads a little width.

Should have a bit more time next week to get it all fitted properly.

Sun seat.... and a bit of rust

Dragged the bike out of the shed for the first time since last year, really like the way the Kopo-tech seat is looking in this pic....Not having the D&D slip-on does make the bike look just the little bit better, might look at the Zard 2-1 lows and fit a number board to hide the rear exhaust mount.
Below -Now this obviously goes under the tank mount, but is a little wide...
Found a couple of spare bolts as the Kompo-Tech kits doesn't supply any to mount the fender eliminator or the bracket. They will do for now but I will replace them with a couple of longer stainless steel bolts from my local garage.
Is this bracket supposed to bolt to theses two seat bolts?, I would imagine they do, but not sure they will...
Plug and play this kit is not, but thats not really a problem.

Rust - I didn't do a very good job of lacquering the yokes, will strip the front end at some point and get them powder coated.

MCN - Brand new classic Nortons found!

Saw this over at MCN.... what dreams are made of.A treasure trove of still-crated Norton Commando 850s from the mid-1970s has been unearthed in Belgium. The 11 ‘New Old Stock’ bikes are part of the stock of a defunct classic motorcycle dealer which is all being put up for auction later this month. The hoard also includes an ex-Peter Williams 1974 Norton works ‘space frame’ racer, a still-crated bike, a 1989 Rotax-powered Matchless G80, dozens of other Nortons and Triumphs, as well as masses of spasres and workshop machinery. It is understood the heirs of the shop – Motoshop Podevyn in Aalst, Belgium – have decided to sell the entire stock following the death of the previous owner. The bikes and items are to be auctioned by Trooswijk Belgie on April 26. Further details of the auction can be found here.
