Cycle One

The US based company Cycle One have produced this custom frame for the Hinkley Twin. Based in Oklahoma in the American Mid West, Cycle One have been producing custom motorcycle frames for the Harley Davidson Big Twin, Sportster & Buell, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Triumph.
Each frame is custom made to the builders choice of specifications for rake, upstretch, forward stretch and rear wheel width. With the British motors a jackshaft assembly is generally required with the larger then stock rear wheel configurations. The frames come with a HD 1” stem neck for use with many of the springer, girders or wide glide front ends. They offer options such as curved downtubes, curved backbones, curved chain stays, hidden axle blocks and a few different drop seat selections. The pricing starts at $ 850.99 and the build time is generally 4-6 weeks.

Custom Scrambler#164 for RRD

Found this via Facebook reminds me of the Deus Ex bike

Brit Tracker?

I cant remember where I found this pic of a Hinckley Tracker, I think that it was taken at the Peterborough' Showground here in the UK.
Looks like D&D/s tucked in underneath, interesting seat and tank, maxxis.... what the fuck is that on the from mudguard?!?!

Royal Signals White Helmets

The team of 30 volunteer soldiers from the Corps that make up the Royal Signals White Helmets tour Britain from April to September every year demonstrating all the personal qualities demanded of the modern Royal Signals soldier. The riders, all of whom have successfully completed an arduous induction process in the winter and spring months to gain the right to wear the coveted white helmet, are all qualified Tradesmen in the Corps. By giving their traditional, thrilling and disciplined arena displays on British Millennium Triumph 750cc motorcycles they clearly show all the qualities of teamwork, courage, trust, strength and agility that are needed in the modern Army.

Not sure what to say...

Cafe Twin Metisse Kit

Nice kit from Cafe Twin in Italy is this Metisse Kit (I have that seat, which is for sale btw) Make your Hinckley Twin Look ( kinda ) Like Steve McQueen's Metisse. Yours for 1200€ (£1,027) Not sure if thats a bargain, when you can get an Alloy seat and Tank for £650. Include the exhaust in the price and then I will be a great kit!

TANKS

Flat Track tanks are really the centre peace of any 'Flat track' bike, as they are significantly different from the standard fuel tank, but finding one for the modern Hinckley Triumph can be difficult, but not impossible with limitless funds, which is one thing I don't have. I've had a look around and made a few phone calls... Lets hope I can find one that doesn't break the bank!

Sneak Peak

I little sneak peek of a Cafe Racer Dreams project. Nice work at the back end there, seems to be a popular modification, might look at doing that myself.

Something else completely different

Summer is coming and its time to lose a few pound. As I don't ride a Harley there is no need for me to be a fat boy on a fat bike
It's funny that the typical forty something Harley rider is fat, considering how many times he will had-to push his bloated bike off the road when it had broken down for the umpteenth time. (amazing he gets to ride it at-all, having to spend hours polish all that sodding chrome after-market shit he has been bolting on since his wife bought the bike for him as a birthday present) You would think chubby would look like Arni in Terminator and just as angry. But then I remembered chubby will probably have breakdown cover, good job really or there would be dead fat bankers littering the side of the roads in summer (not a bad thing), anyway I digress, So for me its time for something else with two wheels, like everything else I love Im going for something a little retro and buying a fixie! - Long gone are my days of Downhilling on my Sintesi Bazooka (great bike until you rip out a mech) and hitting trees so its time to take it easy.

Seats off again

Dragged the bike out of the shed at the weekend, removed the seat cowl that I no don't like. I think a nice flat seat Wrench Monkees style is in order. The rev limiter would get in the way so moving that down. Also repositioned the down to the front of the frame where the horn used to be.

That's how long I want my pipes to be when I get either new headers made or have the old ones shortened
That looks a little better
keeping it tidy and out of the way in here.

MONKEE...

Posting pic of MONKEE No 22 for no other reason than because I can - Wrench Monkees are currently working on a Hinckley Bonneville, cant wait to see that when its finished. Until then here is their pervious work...

Every time I see the low profile saddle on these bikes I want to do the same....maybe its time I did
Striped down and rugged looking.... Perfect!

G. Garage Bonnie Dirt Track

Another Italian workshop that has been modifying The Bonnevill is G. Garage of S.Polo dei Cavalieri. Who normally works with classic bikes. I think they made the seat and modified the tank as well as making that bloody tasty swing arm, but I no speaky the Italiano.

Straight through headers (on the left-hand side of the bike too) ... Loud pipes saves lives!... this should save a few! -
Now is that a tasty swingarm or is THAT a tasty swingarm!- But dump those crap headlight mount for something a little better or a maybe numberboard/light.
Hmmmm think that arse is a little....flat! - But bloody nice work all in!

Its amazing how many custom Bonnie's I've missed this last 12 months of blog slacking.

Cider Powered!

Nice pic of a Matisse framed Triumph Tracker in the livery of the Strongbow Cider team of the 70's
Nice looking machine, but I'm not sure about that seat.

Bloggers Bikes II

Ross from supacustom.com sent me a link to his own custom Hinckley twin. This build was based on a 2001 Triumph Bonneville. I think you will agree, the end result is a bit tasty! - Great website too.

read all about the bike here

Bloggers Bikes

As I've said on sidebar of this blog, I'm interested in seeing what others have done with their own Triumph twins. Hardtails are very popular, then what's new there. I recieved an email this morning from Dave who wanted to show me his own Hinckley Triumph bobber, great work mate!
...Saw your blog and included some pics of my bonneville i put together last winter.  Got the bike totaled out pretty cheap.  Bought a weld-on hardtail from lowbrow customs, and much more and this is how it came out.  Hope you like it....

Thanks,
Dave

Valentines and the Battistinis Retro Revival

For the 12th Feb I treated my girlfriend to the 'Battistinis Retro Revival' down here in sunny Bournemouth.... For many Valentines is a day of dread, a day of taking out other halves out to dinner in some poncey restaurant and being all romantic, a day where it could be make or break if we get it wrong (seems a little one sided from past experiance) But this time its going to be different, the girlfriend is looking forward to this little shindig. A big fan of all things retro this is the perfect place for her and for me with  its's custom motorcycles and perfornaces from Beatrix Von Bourbon, Fay la Foe what better way to spend and evening.

The 2010 Bike EXIF Top 10, Part I

It's no accident that customised Triumph Hinckley twins are the most popular bikes on the Bike EXIF website. Not when you look at what has been coming out of the workshops of  Hammarhead, Mr Martini, Deus and TPR to name a few, as well as what Triumph's enthusiast are building in their own workshops at home. Glance through the pages of Triumphrat.net and you will come across post from members who are all to willing to modify their machines into something different. If you are planning a project based around the Triumph twin let me know as I'm always looking for new project to feature. I have a few plans for my own Scrambler project this year which I hope to get for the summer, but more on that later.
(Above) Readers of  Bike EXIF loved this Triumph T100 Scrambler as well as Dave's Deus Customised Bonneville

The 2010 Bike EXIF Top 10, Part I

1. Hammarhead Jack Pine (Above) Readers loved this back-to-basics Triumph T100 Scrambler.
4. Deus Triumph Bonneville Possibly the sexiest custom Triumph Bonneville in the world.

Details on MrMartini 's 'Shorty'

I hope I get this right as some information might of got-ten lost in the translation. Shorty is by MrMartini the custom wing of Verona based Triumph dealership 'Triumph Verona' which is owned and run by Nicola Martini who has been selling Triumph's since 1994. 'Triumph Verona' is based in a rather cool fifty year old former petrol station, which just adds that extra bit of coolness when buying your Triumph in Verona - The MrMartini showroom is just across the road and is one of the coolest I have ever seen. As you can see from the screengrab from the MrMartini website the showroom is carpeted in rich red, while chandeliers hang from the ceiling. The showroom is furnished by a selection of custom bikes (not all of which are Triumphs) and the odd piece of opulent furniture. This showroom alone is worth a trip to Verona. I can see it now... the other half can go check-out where Romeo and Juliet had a little chat, while I visit the MrMartini showroom, sounds like the perfect trip to me!
So Shorty... some of the things I've spotted on this build are the relocated coils and ignition switch with custom mounting bracket attached to the carb and swing-arm mount. Large protruding air filters (love those puppies). A bright yellow fuel-tank which I'm told is from a 'Moto Deglia Anni 70". The bash plate covering the engine side covers (that will stop that black from peeling) some rather nice alloy yokes. The bars and controls look custom, as is that seat which again I'm told is made from an "old leather jacket". Also the sprocket cover, gear and brake pedal have been drilled and a tasty stainless Exhaust has been fitted. The shortened frame and polished swing-arm add to what is a bloody nice bike from MrMartini.

If you get a chance, check out both their websites

Won't be going out at night then! - Stick a rear light on and It will be legal for a daytime MOT.
2006 790 cc Bonneville
Love the shield, that should help to keep the black finish from flaking off after exposure to the weather.
Custom made Exhaust for MrMartini by Zard - BITUBO Shocks

Surprised the rear foot rests mounts are still on, keeps it practical I suppose!
Those tyres are Dunlop Sportmax Mutant 120/70ZR17/Dunlop Sportmax Mutant 150/60ZR17

First thing to do on any Bonne project is to cut the back end.

Get Shorty

I would love to get shorty...
